A Tornado is Rare - until it happens on your Street

Image
Natural disasters happen all the time, all over the world. Luckily Czech Republic is somewhat safe and not many disasters here were ever caused by aggressive weather. We feel good knowing that in our part of the world an aggressive tornado was rare. The last one was approximately 900 years ago and historical records described it as hellish event, that frightened the people of those times. Climate change is a reality and if it caused the tornado to form over two small villages in Hodonin, on 24th June 2021 is not something I can judge or explain.  The event that took everyone by surprise was caught on camera by people who more or less realised the dangers of a real tornado. Despite the devastating material costs and manpower needed to recover from the ruins that now is all over the news, the worse is that there were people dying, 6 victims are already counted among which a 32 year old pregnant lady and a 2 years old baby. The injured were at around 85 people. These numbers are taken fr

Spring Cleaning at the Garden

Image
Gardening is one of my hobbies since early childhood and sometimes I am almost sure that my job was supposed to be that which is known as gardener. Or a chef. Being blessed with a small but lovely garden at the place where we now live with our 3 young boys is one of the luckiest things that could happen to us during this pandemic and made the lockdown much more bearable. Last week I managed to clean, prune, gather and bring to recycling almost all that was needed from our small garden. In the video you can see the entire cleaning process that took almost 5 hours. Is in our native language but I think the images speak for themselves and no need for a translation here.

Winter Sleighing in year 2021

Image
There are various spots in the neighbourhood and nearby regions where one can go sleighing these days. We have chosen the one which is suitable and had nice rides during the last week. Using the garden for easy sleighing and we even improvised a sleigh from an old IKEA laundry pot: Other ways for having fun in winter time si making a Snowman (sorry we do not have the photo fot this one here) We also had nice rides with this great sleigh from STIGA: I liked this one so much that I even made a short  video presentation on my Youtube channel  for it. How do you spend time outdoors these days?

Cleaning in between the glass door of an Electric Oven MORA

The oven door can easily gather all sort of dirt and hard to clean grease, becoming one of the easiest places to overlook while cleaning the oven. I am using a sponge and the Jeder liquid washing detergent to clean each the three glass strata. In the following order I remove and clean each part of the door: 1. First glass strata is easily removed by releasing the 2 lateral handles, while the click is heard you can grab the door and take it for a wash and dry. 2. Second glass door strata does not need to be removed as it slides and can be washed right there on the spot 3 The exterior strata and last is also being cleaned on the spot. The name of my electric oven is MORA and this is how I clean its door in between the glass strata. Here you can also  watch the video  on how I removed the glass for cleaning, for your better overview. Thank you

My Year in Review - 2020

Dear Reader, I know there are many possible explanations for me not posting anything the entire of 2020 and there are no suitable excuses so I will try not to make one. Instead, I want to thank you for being here and taking time to read into my posts for a little while. I am thankful for all the great things that happened during 2020 and most of all I am happy that our kids and families, loved ones are doing well and healthy. The boys grow so fast and we love every moment spent with them. We spend a lot of time in nature this year, even if we are outdoorsy by nature, yet we managed  more time outside during this year. We learned to have more valuable time together as a family. We got them big boys' bikes and our 2nd boy learned how to bike. Our 3d boy walked on Mikulas holiday, just one month before his 1st birthday. We played a lot of board games and thanked God each day that we are all well and together. The boys bring so much joy and happiness to our hearts, Thank you God for t

With Lego one can never get bored, so we made sure to stack lots of various LEGOs for this autumn-winter season, as we spend little more time indoors than during the summer times. It brings a lot of challenges for boths toddlers and preschoolers, even we adults love playing with LEGO. I bring today a few in this article review, as we used, tested and are happy with them, but as time will go by, will add more and more toys reviews on the blog, if I see an interest. 1. Gestational Diabetes During Pregnancy - How I deal with it?

This post didn't come out easily, did a lot of thinking before deciding to write or not write about it. A few years ago I could not imagine to write about such personal experience, but now here it is, I feel it might help others in my situation, as I know I would have few years ago. Coping with gestational diabetes in pregnancy is something that some of us have to do, even though the statistics say we are few moms in this situation, every year I hear of more and more cases.          I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes during my 1st pregnancy and now at my 3rd also. At the 2nd pregnancy there was no gestational diabetes but my feeling is that I still had it, as baby no.2 was born big, however thank God he was born in good health and no other problems and both kids are growing nicely, in good health and a lot of appetite for life and activities. What are the steps to follow when having GD?        This time around I am again lucky that it seems the diabetes can be held und
