Halloween stuff, autumn vacation and the foggy outdoors

 We tried to spend most of out times outdoors during the autumn vacation and were lucky for the nice weather. The fog, mist and autumn colours are really a delight during this time of the year. Every time we look outside we find joy and calm. As part of our family tradition, we baked something and cooked all the meals at home these days, because we love how the foggy and wintery atmosphere outside makes the indoor time a little more special than it already is. I am not keeping the up to date information on the blog because..well, who cares. But I will just say we are thankful for everything and were so happy that the seasonal colds and flus left our household two weeks ago so this little vacation did not catch us all sick or in recovery mode.

As for tips and ideas how to spend Halloween here is what we usually do:

- decorate a pumpkin

- make a lampion and then scare ourselves indoors every evening for a few days - we wear costumes, make noises and use glow in the dark sticks, whatever we have

- listen to Radio until late at night and play all kinds of invented and seemingly boring games but that make us laugh with tears - like the game called "DO not LAUGH"(he who resists without making a laughing noise or even the slightest smile for longest wins - we laugh all the laugh out of us before starting but still is the funniest game we invented so far

- play chess or some simple boardgame, try to figure the Rubik cube

- went to ZOO for the Halloween evening 29.10

- went to technicke Museum as they had free entry for kids and they are cool place, also their toys are the best, so some small souvenirs found their way to our home

- planned our next train trip for the weekend but still not sure about the details like how we will manage the food and snacks

- talked a lot

- baked

- baked some tea and then drank it all on the small porch while trying to make round steam bubbles from our mouths

- gathered the 7 tomatoes from garden and made the lovely tomate sauce for our scary pasta 

- made preparation of snacks for kindergarten enevent

- made last minute Halloween masks from paper plates as they were so cheap and cute

What I did not do during this vacation is - no sport/physical activity and not much cleaning.
